Legal Consulting & Unbundled Legal Services

Legal Consulting–Outsourcing Services:  Ms. Powell works with other lawyers or businesses on an as-needed basis as an extra set of hands when additional capacity is needed. By outsourcing certain legal services, small law firms and businesses can increase efficiency and profitability by optimizing workflow and avoiding the costs and risks associated with hiring full-time employees and legal staff. Below is a list of the type of work commonly outsourced:

  • *Legal research;
  • *Brief writing;
  • *Drafting of pleadings, motions, responses, or final orders (Federal and State Level);
  • *Document review;
  • *Discovery and discovery responses;
  • *Contract review and drafting;
  • *Review and negotiation of clinical trial agreements, confidential disclosure agreements and other required ancillary contracts or documents; and
  • *Miscellaneous other services.

Legal Consulting & Unbundled Legal Services: Limited Scope or “unbundled legal services” allows clients to hire an attorney only for limited and specific tasks as opposed to handling all aspects of a client’s case.  The services can range anywhere from consulting, to drafting a single document, to handling multiple aspects of a client’s case.  This practice allows clients to have maximum control over their case and the associated costs.  Client’s are able to benefit by obtaining much-needed legal expertise at a more affordable price as the overall cost is lower than it would be for full representation.  This practice also allows attorneys to help more individuals by making legal services more obtainable and cost-effective by providing an option for those individuals who would not otherwise be able to afford to hire an attorney for full representation in their case.  In unbundled arrangements the client handles some matters as a self-represented or “pro se” litigant. For example, in a divorce case, a client may only want to hire the attorney to draft the relevant documents or provide legal advice related to certain aspects of the case while the client is responsible for all other aspects of the case.  Depending on the legal services needed, KMP Law provides unbundled legal services on a flat fee basis or hourly rate.

  • For those clients willing to meet virtually instead of in-person, we can assist clients all over the State of Texas.

WeAGREE Divorce Program

Our WeAGREE divorce program is a program offering low-cost, flat-fee divorces for spouse who are in agreement on all aspects of their divorce which includes property divisions, child custody, and child support. Uncontested divorces require a high degree of trust and authenticity between you and your spouse.  If you feel that you cannot trust your spouse or that the two of you will not be able to work together for the best interest of your family moving forward, then a more traditional approach to divorce is likely necessary.

Our WeAgree divorce program offers different packages and rates depending on your situation. You can choose between our Pro Se packages and Attorney-Represented Packages. Our Pro Se Agreed Divorce packages are available to anyone who has lived in Texas for at least six months and who qualify for an uncontested divorce. Our Attorney-Represented Agreed Divorces are limited to specific counties within Texas which are specified on our Family Law page and are available to individuals who have lived in Texas for at least six months and who qualify for an uncontested divorce.

See our Family Law page to learn more.

This program includes an initial estate planning consultation at the location of your choice and, once the documents have been drafted and meet with your approval, a Will Signing Ceremony will be arranged at the location of your choosing.

“Wills Online”, our Virtual Web-based program aims to make reasonable priced estate planning options available to individuals across the entire State of Texas.  Instead of meeting in person, all correspondence will occur via conference calls, video conferencing such as Zoom, and through our secure portal.

You will be sent detailed instructions regarding the process of signing your Will in compliance with Texas statutes.  When possible all Will signings will occur via Zoom video conferencing.  If the signing process and witness designations are not followed exactly as instructed, your Will might be held invalid.  KMP Law will walk you step-by-step through the signing process so you are comfortable with the process.
